A: CityAgric Capital is a mixed farming investment specialist firm with focus on “mixed farming” – Crops & Livestock. The firm offers direct access to low-cost, high potential agricultural land with valuable high yield livestock & crop, regular income and strong capital growth prospects. CACL is a subsidiary of City Planners Property and Investment Limited.

Q: What is CAGL Farmland Investment Scheme?

A: It is an alternative investment platform in agricultural land that guarantees high seasonal returns to investors.

Q:What scheme does CACL offers?

A: The investment scheme offered by CACL is in two folds bundled in one:

  1. Farmland Acquisition Scheme
  2. Farmland Cultivation Scheme

Q: What is Farmland Acquisition Scheme?

A: The Farmland Acquisition Scheme (FAS) is a scheme where Investors purchase farmland with guaranteed beneficial ownership of the title to subscribed land and guaranteed capital appreciation. The farmland is cultivated with crops or livestock, processed and traded after harvest. Returns on investment shall then be paid to investors in the scheme from proceeds of sales or investor receives returns on his/her investment after he/she sells farm yields.

Q:What is Farmland Cultivation Scheme?(We partner for profit).

A: The Farmland Cultivation Scheme (FCS) is a scheme where investors further invest in the cultivation of their land. The scheme focus is on Crops and Livestock farming with investors choosing either to operate the purchased land by self or through CityAgric Capital Management.

If investor manages the purchased farm plot(s) through CityAgric, returns from sales of farm produce will be shared between the parties at agreed percentage. However, if investor manages the purchased farm plot(s) for farming by self, he or she keeps all his/her returns.

Q: What is the Location of the farmland?

A:The farmland (Ivory farm) is located at Epe Local Government of Lagos State, Nigeria.

Q: How much is the farmland acquisition?

A: The minimum investment for the Farmland Acquisition Scheme is N370,000.00 per plot of land (This does not include cost of farm cultivation)

Q: What is the size of a plot of farmland under the scheme?

A: 60 by 120 meters OR 648sqm

Q: How much is the cost of cultivating on a plot of land?

A:There is no fixed amount for cultivation. The cost of cultivation depends on the type of crop or animal the investor wishes to invest in.

Q:What facilities are to be provided on Farmland?

A: There are “basic and paid” facilities to be enjoyed by investors on CityAgric Farmland:

*Basic facilities

  • Bore-hole
  • Securing the land border
  • Earthroad
  • Farm house

*Paid facilities

  • Site clearing
  • Land ploughing

  • Storage

Q: If I choose to invest, what are the various payment plans available?

A:FAS:The scheme promoter has made provision for Installment Payment Options. The Farmland Scheme is offered to investors intending to pay in installments in the following payment options:

  • A maximum of two (2) installments payable in two (2) consecutive months is available only to investors buying less than an acre.
  • A maximum of three (3) installments payable in three (3)) consecutive months is available to investors buying 1 (one) acre and above.

FCS:Outright payment is what is applicable here.

Q: What are other necessary charges attached to this investment scheme?

A: Asides from the above necessary listed fees and charges there are no other hidden charges.

Q: What documents will I get after payment for the Farmland Acquisition Scheme & Farmland Cultivation Scheme?

A: Subscriber to the scheme who completes payment shall be entitled to the following documents.

FAS:

  • Land Certification
  • Receipt of Payment
  • Survey Plan
  • Deed of Assignment

FCS:

  • Certificate of subscription
  • Receipt

 

Q: How many plots are in an acre?

A: 6plots

Q: How many plots are in an hectare?

A: 12plots

Q:  How long does it take to cultivate the farmland, plant the crops and nurture till harvest?

A: This depend on the type of crop being planted or animal being reared.( See Investment Guide)

Q: How long does it take between the cultivating, harvesting period and returns on investment?

A:This also depends of the type of crop or animal. Some crops have up to two or three seasons within a year

Q: What is the return on investment on a plot of farmland per season?

A:This will be determined to a large extent by various factors like type of crop or animal, level of investment and subsequent yield and of course going rates in the market.

Q: Can I sell my Land if I choose not to continue my investment?

A:It is allowed under the scheme but this will be at the private arrangement of the investor only with the knowledge of the project promoter.

Q: Can I erect residential building on my farmland?

A: NO. The Ivory Farmland of 100acres is approved for agric use only. However as development catches up within the farmland axis, consideration will be made for change of approval as the case maybe.

Q: Can I rent out my parcels of farmland as an investor?

A: YES

Q: How much is the RENT on farmland per plot?

A: N5,000 (Five thousand naira) rental return on a plot of farmland per annum.

Q: What are the terms and conditions for the RENTAL option?

A:The farmland owner (investor) executes a Memorandum Of Understanding with CACL where rental terms are well spelt out and agreed upon by both parties.

Q: Is the investment transferable?

A:YES.

Q: Is return on my investment re-investible or rolled over?

A:YES. However, this platform is open to large scale investors only.

Q: What other benefits does an investor enjoy investing in the scheme apart from capital appreciation on the land?

A: Your investment aims to provide you with:

  • Projected income estimated at 300% per annum from high yield Crops & Livestock harvests.
  • An immediate uplift in the value of the land – once prepared for cultivation.

Q: Is there any insurance cover for the scheme?

A:The project promoter has opened discussion with Nigeria Agricultural Insurance Corporation to cover the farmland investment scheme.

Q: Can I roll over my dividends/returns to the following year?

A: YES.

Q: How would land be replenished yearly to ensure high yield?

A:The project promoter has secured understanding of the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan and Federal Institute of Industrial Research (FIIRO), to provide support services to ensure continual high yield harvest seasonally.
